Short answer…you need an advocate.
What is an advocate?
An advocate is an individual that stands beside you and helps you understand your rights, your children’s rights and prepares you for the next steps.
Short answer: an advocate gets in the driver’s seat and steers, so you can move to the backseat where your child is.
Why do I need an advocate?
Your child has rights to an education. Children cannot learn when they are scared, confused, belittled and misunderstood. As a parent, you can not fight for them when you feel the same.
When do I need an advocate?
The moment you feel any confusion, discomfort or doubt on how your child is learning or being treated.
